MOZART & ARENSKY

Alan Gilbert—one of the world’s leading conductors and chamber musicians—returns to play violin in Arensky’s dark-hued Quartet in A Minor (written by the young composer as an homage to Tchaikovsky after his death) on a program that includes Mozart’s seminal G-minor Piano Quartet and the first-ever Festival performance of English composer Malcolm Arnold’s lively Divertimento.
