Myra Huang — Piano
Acclaimed by Opera News as “among the top accompanists of her generation” and described by The New York Times as “a colouristic tour de force,” Grammy® Award–nominated pianist Myra Huang is celebrated for her masterful artistry, interpretive depth, and refined technique. Renowned for her interpretations of lieder and art song, she performs regularly on the world’s leading stages, including Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, The Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center, Walt Disney Concert Hall, The Kennedy Center, and The 92nd Street Y.
A recipient of The Samuel Sanders Collaborative Artist Award from The Classical Recording Foundation (2019), Huang is recognized for her exceptional collaborative artistry. Her longtime recital partners include Fleur Barron, J’Nai Bridges, Lawrence Brownlee, Sasha Cooke, Ying Fang, Joshua Hopkins, Will Liverman, Angela Meade, John Matthew Myers, Eric Owens, Nicholas Phan, Susanna Phillips, Roderick Williams, and clarinetist Anthony McGill.
In addition to her performing career, Huang holds prominent leadership positions in major musical institutions. She serves as Head of Music for the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at The Metropolitan Opera, Director of Musical Administration and Head Coach at the Aspen Music Festival, and is on the Collaborative Piano faculty at the Manhattan School of Music, where she mentors and trains the next generation of singers and pianists.
An avid recording artist, Huang is a two-time Grammy nominee for her albums Gods and Monsters and Clairières, both recorded with tenor Nicholas Phan on the Avie label. She is a Steinway Artist.
