Alexis Corbin — percussionist

Alexis Corbin is a native of Portland, Oregon, now rooted in the Southwest. A percussionist whose work spans a broad range of musical traditions, she performs regularly with the Santa Fe Symphony and Opera Southwest, and her credits include collaborations with the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players, the Bill Evans Dance Company, and Kawambe-Omowale African Drum and Dance Theater. She has also shared the stage with two of the foremost figures of the steel pan world, Liam Teague and Len “Boogsie” Sharpe.

Alexis is an on-air host on Classical 95.5 KHFM, where she also serves as Executive Director. 

Beyond the stage and the studio, Alexis is a passionate advocate for music education and youth access to the arts. She was the founding Program Director of New Mexico’s first El Sistema USA program, and has served on the Santa Fe Opera Youth Advisory Board, as well as the Governing Council of the Public Academy for the Performing Arts.
