MOZART & TCHAIKOVSKY
Our 53rd season begins with a must-see musical moment, when bassist Edgar Meyer, violinist Daniel Phillips, and New York Philharmonic Principal Cellist Carter Brey reunite for a piece they premiered at the Festival in 1986: Meyer’s thrilling String Trio No. 1, which was the seven-time Grammy Award winner’s first major composition. The program also features Tara Helen O’Connor in a landmark work for flute—Mozart’s D-major Flute Quartet—plus pianist George Li, violinist Danbi Um, and Brey bring the evening to a fiery close with Tchaikovsky’s blockbuster Piano Trio in A Minor.
