GEORGE LI PIANO RECITAL
July 21 | 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Pianist George Li—praised by The Washington Post for combining “staggering technical prowess, a sense of command and depth of expression”—plays two defining works of the solo piano repertoire: Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, a powerful evocation of a memorial for the composer’s friend at St. Petersburg’s Imperial Academy of Arts, and the first book of Debussy’s two-book suite Images, which the composer (rightfully) predicted would “find [its] place in the literature of the piano…to the left of Schumann or to the right of Chopin.”
DEBUSSY Images, Book I (1901-05)
MUSSORGSKY Pictures at an Exhibition (1874)
