Our programs serve thousands of students in public schools throughout northern New Mexico and offer invaluable, life-changing experiences. Your support helps ignite our students’ curiosity and nurture their creativity, and it plays a key role in fostering the next generation of music lovers and artists. The Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival has been offering music education programs to children and youth in northern New Mexico for decades. Today, aided by the support we receive through The Art or Possibility, we’re expanding our programs in new and exciting ways, including:
Strings in Our Schools
- Launching monthly master classes to enrich learning and inspire excellence
Guitar in Our Schools
- Adding Cesar Chavez Elementary to our program lineup
- Purchasing 10–20 child-sized guitars to ensure all students have the tools they need to participate and thrive
Music in Our Schools
- Adding one additional school to our program lineup, increasing access to foundational music education
Dream Big Private Lesson Program
- Absorbing students from Performance Santa Fe’s private lesson program, ensuring continuity of instruction
- Adding Milagro Middle School and Santa Fe High to our program lineup, offering individualized musical mentorship where it’s needed most
Dream Big Private Lesson Scholarship Program
- Offering 10 more scholarships since last year, increasing the total amount award by $7,800
- Serving as the only program in Santa Fe to offer FREE private lessons to students who otherwise wouldn’t be able to take them due to financial barriers
When you donate to The Art of Possibility, your gift supports specific program needs as well, with a handful of examples including:
- One year of private lessons for one of our Dream Big students ($780)
- One in-school concert for our Music in Our Schools program ($750)
- One Music in Our Schools musician performing at all 14 of the program’s participating schools ($2,520)
- One semester of Strings in Our Schools or Guitar in Our Schools instruction, which includes weekly hour-long group lessons ($3,400)
- One guitar for one of our Guitar in Our Schools students ($150; $180 with case)
